Rolled out mid-morning. First ten miles are flat and suburban — past the old mill in Leesburg, through Hamilton. After that the houses pull back and you're in farmland.
Hit Purcellville around noon. Water, granola bar at the old train station, pointed east. Return leg always feels faster.
The W&OD doesn't have real climbs — nothing over 200 ft at a stretch, just a long rolling grade. E-bike flattens it enough to hold speed without erasing the work. Did it at ~18 mph average. Legs knew about it the next day.
